The AI Safety Fellowship is an independent research fellowship that links fellows with top mentors in the fields of technical AI governance and safety. For three months, fellows conduct research in Singapore, developing the knowledge and connections necessary for global cooperation on AI safety. It is designed for researchers who, in addition to publishing their work, want it to influence practical AI safety practices. That is made feasible by Singapore’s position as a hub for policy engagement and global connectivity.
Advanced AI governance will require technical solutions, policy judgment, and most importantly, regional cooperation. With our headquarters in Singapore, at the nexus of East and West, we develop ecosystems and investigate technological solutions to reduce the dangers associated with frontier AI. We were established in 2024 as a physical hub in central Singapore, and today we are a global team with members from North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. In order to pursue significant research topics, fellows will be provided with a substantial monthly salary, lodging, round-trip travel assistance, and substantial computing resources.
