Zayed Sustainability Prize 2026 for International Applicants:
Applications are invited to apply for the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2026 in the UAE. International Applicants are welcome to apply for this programs in Abu Dhabi. The purpose of this program is to honor the leaders for their innovative, motivating, and inventive contributions to a sustainable future. This includes climate action, food, energy, water, health, and global high school. The program is free to apply for and is open to citizens of all nationalities. The winners of the Prize will be invited to the awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi by invitation. In January 2026, the ceremony will be held in Abu Dhabi. The Finalist applicants’ airfare, lodging, and domestic transportation expenses are paid for by the Abu Dhabi Government. Additionally, winners will receive prize money. A visionary leader who revolutionized the country with his commitment to solidarity, sustainability, and humanitarian principles, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was the founding father of the United Arab Emirates. His dedication to social welfare, education, and the environment set the groundwork for the UAE’s development into a modern, affluent nation.
In 2008, the Zayed Prize was created in his honor to carry on his legacy of advocating for global development, inclusivity, and sustainability. In keeping with Sheikh Zayed’s lifelong dedication to the welfare of people, the Prize honors and rewards innovators who develop solutions that improve communities globally.
The UAE’s first worldwide award, the Sustainability Prize, honors and celebrates global high schools, nonprofit organizations, and small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) that provide inspiring, creative, and sustainable solutions. The award honors the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, for his contributions to sustainability and humanitarianism. Innovation (40%):
- The solution must be unique or greatly enhance preexisting ones.
- Present a distinctive value proposition.
- Demonstrate both technical and financial feasibility.
- Provide proof of market adoption, either real or projected.
Impact (30%):
- Demonstrate a clear positive impact on quality of life.
- Address significant social, economic, technological, or environmental challenges.
- Exhibit organizational resilience to potential challenges.
- Demonstrate good governance and skilled personnel.
- Implement fair policies.
- Provide a detailed plan for the effective use of prize funds.
Inspiration (30%):
- Exhibit the fundamental principles of human development and sustainability.
- Remember Sheikh Zayed’s legacy.
- Encourage more human development and sustainability initiatives.
- Encourage the adoption of sustainable practices in the community.
