In order to assist partners in making a global impact, the UNOPS Global Portfolios Office (GPO) brings together a variety of expertise. GPO oversees multi-regional projects that promote sustainable development, climate action, and peacebuilding, including in some of the most difficult situations on earth. The organization has centers in New York, Geneva, and Vienna, as well as specialist teams working all across the world. GPO supports UNOPS’ strategic initiatives and the Sustainable Development Goals in more than 130 countries by utilizing our worldwide networks and collective knowledge.

In order to provide a variety of services, including project management, finance management, hosting services, and HR assistance, we collaborate closely with significant international partners, such as governments, international financial institutions, and UN organizations.

Applications are being accepted for the Partnerships Internship at the UNOPS Geneva Office of the United Nations Office for Project Services. The chosen intern will assist with international events, stakeholder engagement, partnership outreach, and communications related to programs that operate in over 130 countries.

Objectives:

• In addition to assisting communications and collaboration initiatives, the intern will assist UNOPS Geneva in getting ready for and taking part in significant international events.
• Researching pertinent events, keeping trackers and calendars, organizing delegation planning, aiding with side-event applications, and dealing with logistics before and after events are some of the responsibilities.
• Additionally, the intern may provide internal guidelines, research materials for statements and briefs, and content that promotes UNOPS Geneva programs on corporate websites, intranet pages, and social media platforms.
• Applicants with an interest in international organizations, diplomacy, sustainable development, event planning, communications, or stakeholder management would do better.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must be enrolled in or have finished a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in one of the following fields within the three years prior to the application date:
  • Development studies;
  • Political science;
  • International relations;
  • Another closely related subject.
• Prior work experience is not required.
• However, an application would be strengthened with a year of experience in partnerships, communications, or business development.
• Report writing proficiency, computer literacy, research abilities, and familiarity with Google Workspace and other web-based tools are all considered useful.
