Selected students will receive a financial award of $2,500 USD toward tuition and education-related expenses, and will be invited to a virtual retreat in October 2022.

What is this scholarship about? This is a scholarship that will help university students using technology to make the world a more sustainable place and who are passionate about the field of computer science and engineering. Students who are already using computer science to solve some of the challenges or opportunities they see around them are invited to apply for the Venkat Panchapaksan Memorial Scholarship.
Can international students apply? This scholarship is specifically for Computer Science students who are enrolled as undergraduate students in a college/university in India for the current academic year.
Can previous scholarship applicants reapply? Previous applicants may re-apply. Previous recipients of any Google Scholarship are not eligible to reapply, including the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship, are not eligible to apply.

Will the submission deadline be extended? No, there will be no extension of application deadline. Please refer to the site for details on submission deadlines.
Can I submit my application in a language other than English? All Google Scholarship review processes are conducted in English. Please submit all application documents in English – we will not be able to consider applications in other languages.
What kind of leadership activities should I include in my CV? Please list any examples of leadership within your wider technology community. This may include teaching, tutoring, lecturing, mentoring, organizing summits, conferences or workshops, hackathons, or contributing to open source projects. Tell us about your influences.
Writing an essay:
In the essay questions, you suggested that the word count should be 400 per question. How strict is this requirement? While 400 is a guideline, we recommend that you stick to the maximum word limit.
Letter of recommendation:
When do I need to provide my letter of recommendation? Only selected scholars will need to submit a letter of recommendation. This will be required before the retreat in October 2022. The Venkat Scholarship team will provide further guidance to the selected scholars once they are announced.
How do I submit my letter of recommendation? We require you to submit a letter of recommendation. This letter can be from your faculty or supervisors at your workplace (internship, part-time job, full-time job). If you are selected as a Venkat Scholar, you must send a recommendation via email to the Venkat Scholarship Team prior to the retreat date.
I am unable to get a recommendation from my current university course/I don’t think my current lecturers know me well enough to be a reference. what shall I do? If you are unable to get a reference from your current university, you can use another one. This person must know you well enough to comment on your abilities. Ideally from a faculty member or tutor who can comment on your work.
