The two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modeling (TCCM) program at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain teaches you how to model molecules and materials with research areas ranging from astrochemistry to drug discovery. TCCM allows you to use molecular modeling to go beyond physics or chemistry to understand how a material behaves. Through advanced molecular modeling and simulation, TCCM, an international Erasmus Mundus Master’s program, prepares the next generation of scientists in theoretical and computational chemistry to tackle challenging problems at the nexus of chemistry, biology, and materials science. TCCM offers two first-year courses at eight universities. You begin at the university where you are enrolled. You can move within your track if you decide to do so in the second semester. During each required mobility period, you must acquire at least 30 ECTS and study in at least two consortium countries. • The TCCM scholarship pays €1,400 a month, or €33,600 over 24 months
• It covers health insurance and tuition.
• The monthly payment helps with travel, visa fees, settling in, and daily living expenses under the European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus financing regulations. Set aside money from the allotment for those costs.

Eligibility Criteria for Erasmus Mundus TCCM Scholarship:

• A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, or material science or any comparable degree accepted by the relevant European nation’s laws.
• If the student completes additional leveling courses under the guidance of their local tutor, a bachelor’s degree in another scientific field may be accepted.
• English proficiency certificate equivalent to a First Cambridge Certificate of B2, an IELTS score of 6.5, or a TOEFL IBT score of 4.5 (equivalent to 90 points by 2026). We also accept other internationally renowned certificates.
• Candidates who have finished their English degree are not required to present an English certificate; nonetheless, at the time of application, they must provide a document from their university attesting to this.
• Candidates cannot apply for a new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarship if they have already received one.
• The following subjects at the level of the Chemistry Eurobachelor, or equivalent, must be certified for applicants with a bachelor’s degree other than those mentioned above:
  • Chemical Bonding,
  • Atomic and Molecular Structure and Intermolecular Interactions,
  • General Physics,
  • Mathematics,
  • General Physical Chemistry,
  • Thermodynamics and Kinetics,
  • Spectroscopy.
  • Leveling courses can be used to address minor inadequacies. Candidates will not be accepted if they have weaknesses in more than two of the specified areas.
  • Applications are accepted from final-year students pursuing any of these bachelor’s degrees. However, until they successfully complete their bachelor’s degree before September 1st of the academic year in which they desire to begin the master’s program, full admission will not be confirmed.
  • Students who are self-funded or who are applying for other grants are also welcome. Additional financial opportunities will be communicated to all students who apply for the Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
