YOJO Young Journalists Program 2026 offers full-time paid employment in Athens, Greece. The program lasts one or two years and accepts candidates from all over the world. The goal of this program is to invite the next generation of reporters who will change the future of independent journalism by producing powerful, transparent, and innovative content.YOJO places a heavy emphasis on video content. The program will choose 20 applications from throughout the world, and the participants will migrate to Athens, Greece, in January 2026. Knowledge of the Greek language is not necessary.

Duties of a YOJO Journalist:

  • Field reporting and worldwide assignments: You’ll cover evolving events on the ground in Greece and abroad, with real-time reporting possibilities, while also learning from top industry professionals and mentors.
  • Impactful journalism: Produce important stories, whether political, investigative, enterprise, foreign, or conflict reporting.
  • Video-First News: Produce engaging news content for digital platforms, reaching viewers where they consume information.
  • Immersive experiences: Experiment with AR, VR, and XR to create news-focused immersive storytelling.
  • Data Journalism and Solutions: Use data journalism to gain insights and create products and solutions built by journalists for journalists.
  • You’ll be fronting your stories: YOJO reporters don’t stay behind the scenes; you’ll be on camera reporting and presenting your own work.
  • Global Network and Community: Network with professionals from all around the world and join a community of emerging journalists that will shape the business in the next years.
  • Media Technology Skills: Learn how to operate cutting-edge broadcast technology and use AI tools to improve news production and narrative.
  • Create your portfolio: After one or two years, you’ll have a strong personal body of published journalistic work across multiple platforms.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the iMEdD YOJO Young Journalists Program 2026 in Greece, international students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Recently graduated from undergraduate or postgraduate degrees (within the last 18 months, since October 2023) OR final-year student (any country welcome)
  • Fluent in English (Greek is a plus but not necessary).
  • No newspaper experience is required—only a strong sense of curiosity and dedication to ethical, effective journalism.
  • Desire to move to Athens and succeed in a dynamic newsroom environment.
