In the context of the New Democratic Pact for Europe, the 14th World Forum for Democracy will be held in Strasbourg from November 2-3, 2026, with the theme “Rupture or Renewal? Democratic Security for Our Future.” The Council of Europe’s solution to these new difficulties is the New Democratic Pact for Europe, which is firmly focused on the future. The Pact, which has been backed by the member states of the Council of Europe since 2025, offers a framework for considering the future of European democracies and how to get ready for it. In order to better prepare for the future of European democracy, the Council of Europe has held extensive consultations with its member states, regions, territories, civil society, and academic institutions over the course of two years.
The Council of Europe is organizing the World event for Democracy 2026 Youth Delegation in France. The forum will be held at the European Youth Center in Strasbourg, France, and is open to candidates from all over the world. Major participation costs, such as travel, lodging, meals, local transportation, and visa-related fees for chosen delegates, will be covered by the Council of Europe.
