This fellowship, which gives qualified professional journalists the chance to visit Doha, Qatar, and cover a significant international development conference, is organized by the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS). The fellowship will be held at the Doha Program of Action (DPoA) Midterm Review on March 25–27, 2027. The main framework for promoting sustainable graduation from the LDC category and advancing sustainable development is the DPoA. The high-level midterm review provides a chance to evaluate implementation, identify gaps and progress, and fortify collaborations for the rest of the decade.
UN-OHRLLS was founded in 2001 and currently serves 92 vulnerable states. In order to achieve sustainable development and globally recognized goals, the 44 Least Developed Countries (LDCs), 32 Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and 39 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) must overcome their own particular set of obstacles. At UN-OHRLLS, we advocate for the three vulnerable country groups and organize international support. It makes sure that the urgent needs of the 1.1 billion people who reside in these nations continue to be at the top of the global agenda while also bringing attention to the economic, social, and environmental potential that these nations possess.
