The Jan Michalski Switzerland Residency Program is open to international applicants. In Montricher, at the base of the Swiss Jura Mountains, this international residency gives writers the chance to live and work in a tranquil setting. The purpose of the residence is to offer specific time and place for writing. Private cottages with views of Lake Geneva, the Alps, or the Jura Mountains are reserved for a select group of people.
Jan Michalski Foundation Residency is a literary residency program established to assist writers and those engaged in the written word. The Foundation offers a special setting where inhabitants can begin, carry out, or finish a literary project. With seven residential cabins, the residence provides writers with a separate area to concentrate on their work. One cottage faces the wooded slopes of the Jura Mountains, while the other six have views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. Nature writing, which includes fiction and creative nonfiction examining nature, sustainability, and the interaction between humans and the environment, also takes up a portion of the residencies.
