The Russia JINR START Winter Program 2026 is now accepting applications. The six- to eight-week winter program at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) is fully supported. All citizens of the world are eligible to participate in the program. During their stay in Dubna, Russia, participants will work with JINR professionals to solve scientific and engineering problems. The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) covers all costs, including airfare, visas, insurance, lodging, and stipends.

START (ex-Summer Student Programme) is an onsite JINR student program designed for students under the age of 30 from all over the world who specialize in science, engineering, or information technology, beginning with their fourth year of undergraduate studies and continuing through their first year of PhD.   • The student purchases the tickets from their home or university city to Dubna and return, and JINR reimburses them after all necessary paperwork is submitted.

  • JINR makes the reservations and payments for the lodging.
  • The student receives a daily allowance of 2000 rubles, which is funded by the JINR laboratory.

  • This course is intended for people who have never taken part in the START program.
