Eligibility Requirements of Postdoctoral Fellowship in Canada

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduate of either a PhD program or have a PhD in hand at the start of the fellowship.
  • Have a doctorate obtained in the last three years prior to the funding start (extensions are possible for justified career breaks, e.g. due to parental leave or illness).
  • Be in a postdoctor program at Université de Montréal (or planned to enter a postdoctor program at Université de Montréal).
  • Suggest a novel and substantial research project related to Institut Courtois members’ fields of expertise.
  • Have legal eligibility to work in Canada or be willing to apply for a work permit (visa support provided to selected candidates).
  • Show high levels of academic performance and research ability.
