CoE Training Course 2026 focuses on youth advocacy for human rights and democracy. Participants will gain knowledge on how to interact with decision-makers, create human rights-based advocacy tactics, and promote increased young involvement in democratic processes.

The Council of Europe Youth Department organizes the Youth Advocacy for Democracy and Human Rights Training Course as part of the Youth Revitalizing Democracy initiative. The program’s goal is to improve young activists’ and youth civil society representatives’ capacity to promote democracy, human rights, youth involvement, and the rule of law.   • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30; if necessary, exceptions may be made.
  • Applicants must serve as a representative of a young civil society organization, international youth network, or national youth council.
  • Political party youth branches and local and regional youth councils may also qualify.
  • Applicants must possess a leadership role within their organization and be capable of carrying out advocacy campaigns.
  • Applicants must be dedicated to human rights, democracy, the rule of law, and youth involvement.
  • Applicants must possess the ability to work independently in English.
  • Applicants must be a resident of a state party to the European Cultural Convention, but there may be some exceptions.
