The Research Fellowship Program is intended for theoretical physics PhD holders with up to six years of postdoctoral experience. PhD graduates who wish to work in a research group within the Theory Department are eligible to apply for Research Fellowships.
Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be considered for the CERN Research Fellowship 2026 in Switzerland (Fully Funded), applicants must:
- You have to be a citizen of one of the Member or Associate Member States of CERN.
- Candidates from Non-Member States who apply through a particular program are also eligible for a restricted number of slots.
- A PhD in theoretical physics or a planned defense date is a prerequisite.
- By the time you begin working, you must have finished your PhD.
- After receiving your PhD, you should have no more than six years of research experience.
- Employees at CERN are not permitted to apply.
