World Bank GovTech AI Bootcamp 2026 in South Korea (Fully Funded)

World Bank GovTech AI Bootcamp in South Korea 2026 is one such unique learning experience for government officials who want to learn about the impact that artificial intelligence can make on their public service work. This is an official program, known as WBG AI Academy for Governments, which targets government officials of developing nations. Furthermore, it is a program which will help participants learn about transitioning from the planning stage to AI investments and government reforms.  Also, apply for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2027 under Horizon Europe.

This program features online education, live virtual classes and an in-person workshop held in Seoul, South Korea. Participants will get to learn about AI strategy, data governance, digital infrastructure, institutional capacity building and AI solutions implementation. The workshop in South Korea will be organized in October 2026 during the World Bank Group Global Digital Summit. It should be noted, however, that the program is meant for government officials and public sector leaders.

Program Structure

This program have three components:

1. Pre-Learning

Participants will start the program with an independent self-paced online course which is to begin in April 2026.

2. Virtual Learning

From late May till October 2026, there will be five live virtual sessions held for the participants which are expected to last for about 90 minutes each and will cover vital issues of AI.

3. Korea Workshop

Following the virtual learning component, selected participants will take part in a two-day in-person workshop to be held in Seoul, South Korea in October 2026. Invitations for this workshop will be extended to not more than 40 AI policy champions.

Eligibility Criteria of World Bank GovTech AI Bootcamp:

In particular, suitable participants should generally meet the following criteria:

  • Be a government official or public-sector professional from a developing country.
  • Be working at a mid- to senior-level position.
  • Work in a digital or ICT ministry, regulatory institution, or governance body.
  • Professionals from telecommunications authorities are suitable.
  • Officials working in data protection authorities can be part of the target audience.
  • Have an interest or role in AI, digital transformation, public services, or technology policy.
  • The program is especially relevant to officials working with AI in areas such as agriculture, education, health and public services.
