The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is an independent, freely sponsored organization within the United Nations. UNIDIR, one of the few disarmament-focused policy institutions in the world, creates knowledge and encourages discussion and action on security. UNIDIR, which has its headquarters in the Palais des Nations in Geneva, helps the global community come up with the creative, workable answers to pressing security issues. UNIDIR’s Strategic Communications team is looking for a Graduate Professional to assist with internal and external communication activities. Under the guidance of the Head of Communications, the Graduate Professional will collaborate closely with the team to ensure that UNIDIR’s messaging is consistent with its corporate identity and effectively engages the target audience.
The UNIDIR Graduate Professional Program 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, is currently accepting applications. International candidates from all around the world are eligible to enroll in this six-month training program. The first day of the training is December 1, 2025. A stipend of USD 1331 per month will be provided to graduates to cover living expenses in Geneva. To assist with internal and external communication initiatives, including content production, digital marketing, and strategic storytelling, UNIDIR is looking for a Graduate Professional. Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be considered for the UNIDIR Graduate Professional Program 2025 in Switzerland, students must:
- All Nationals are eligible to participate in the program.
- A university degree is required, and the GPP must be started within a year following graduation.
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, such as international relations, marketing, public relations, or communication.
- As long as they start the UNIDIR Graduate Program within a year of their graduation date, candidates with prior university degrees are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Skilled in digital content creation for social media, email, and the web, including multimedia design using Canva and Photoshop.
- Strong online and project management abilities with Trello, Google Analytics, and WordPress.
- Skilled in handling conflicting goals with remarkable attention to detail and knowledgeable about the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
