Young, aspiring journalists can hone their abilities and obtain experience working at The New York Times by participating in the New York Times Fellowship 2026, which lasts for a year. Reporters, editors, and visual journalists with the ability to present breaking news are eligible to apply for the Fellowship. Early-career journalists have a fantastic opportunity to begin their careers with one of the most significant newspapers in the world, which is headquartered in New York, USA.
Reporting, photography, graphics, design, video, audio, audience interaction, and opinion writing are among the tasks the fellows will perform. The early career journalism program will start on June 1, 2026, and run through May 21, 2027. While the majority of fellows will be stationed in our headquarters in New York, there may be openings at our offices in Washington, San Francisco, and London. Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be considered for the New York Times Fellowship 2026 in the USA and the UK, students:
The Fellows have a one-year work period.
The jobs are located in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Fellows who have worked in journalism for more than five years are not eligible to apply.
Candidates must be qualified to work in either the US or the UK.
New work visas are not sponsored by the New York Times. They might, however, take into account those who already have valid work visas or student visas that can be extended through optional practical training.
