UNESCO Wonju Literature Residency 2025 for International Students:
Applications are invited to apply for the UNESCO Wonju Literature Residency 2025 in South Korea. All International applicants can apply for this program in South Korea. The program lasts for eight weeks. From September 1st to October 31st, 2025, the Wonju Literature Residency Program will be in operation. Visit South Korea for 8 weeks. The fully funded Literature Residency 2025 program is being held in Wonju, which is in the South Korean province of Gangwon. This program’s goal is to welcome authors of literature related to the cities that comprise the Cities of Literature. The Toji Cultural Center will house between 16 and 19 writers and artists. The application fee is free.
Wonju UNESCO City of Literature invites writers from the Cities of Literature network to apply for an 8-week residency at the Toji Cultural Centre.
The residency will run from September 1 to October 31, 2025. There are no conditions that the resident must meet during their stay. Approximately 16 to 19 additional writers and artists will be staying at the Toji Cultural Center throughout the residency time, and Wonju City of Literature hopes that this will provide an opportunity to form creative friendships while also enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the Wonju City of Literature Residency 2025 in South Korea, international students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- There are no necessary requirements for residents during their stay.
- To converse during the residence, you will need to have at least B2 English ability.
- An impartial panel from the Toji Cultural Centre will choose the resident.
- Successful applicants will be notified on July 30, 2025.
